Simplino performed well overall and was especially fast at invoice creation. It looks like the closest mainstream competitor in this test on pure simplicity.
bexio performed better than some lighter-weight competitors in our workflow test, but its current packaging makes clear that it is broader Swiss business software, not a freelancer-only invoicing tool.
CashCtrl stays compelling because the free tier is real. But the product feels more like accounting software first and simplicity winner second.
Infinity had strong first-touch onboarding but much heavier invoice creation in our test.
Smallinvoice finished last in our test. That does not make it a bad product, but it does show how much extra navigation can pile up when the tool covers a broader admin surface than many freelancers need.
The point is not that every user should choose the winner. The point is that complexity has a cost, and the cost shows up every week.
