How it started

Built out of real frustration

Nathan was self-employed for years. Every month, the same fight with software built for companies with their own accounting department. So he called Fahad.

Software for 50 people

Endless menus and tutorials for features he never needed, just to send one invoice.

Swiss clients expected QR-bills. Nathan typed in the payment details by hand, every single time.

A chalet above Sion, not a corporate office

Nathan and Fahad started out in a chalet above Sion, looking out over the Valais mountains. Every feature starts with a problem we had ourselves, or one you wrote to us about.

Built for ourselves first

We built the app we would have needed ourselves: invoices, receipts and VAT without accounting know-how. That became our invoicing software.

Who is behind Magic Heidi?

Three people in Switzerland: founder Nathan Ganser (product and support), engineer Fahad (the apps) and Leo (board member, admin and code). Nathan and Fahad started out in a chalet above Sion. Magic Heidi has been available to all self-employed people in Switzerland since 2023.

How is Magic Heidi funded?

Through the subscriptions of the people who use the app. Magic Heidi was built without venture capital and is profitable, so the business already pays for itself today. That way we decide for our users, not for investors with an exit plan.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

It's yours. You can export everything in full at any time: invoices, receipts and client data. You can cancel whenever you like, and you're never locked in.

Can I talk to a real person?

Yes. Email hello@magicheidi.ch or call +41 78 300 24 77, in German, French, Italian or English. Founder Nathan often answers himself. To get started, you can book a free 30-min onboarding call.

Can my accountant (Treuhänder) work with me?

Yes. You give them their own access to your account, or you export invoices, receipts and reports for the year-end accounts in a few clicks.

Who is Magic Heidi for, and who isn't it for?

For self-employed people and sole proprietorships in Switzerland, and for one-person GmbHs in their day-to-day work: invoices, receipts, VAT. If you need payroll for employees, inventory management or several companies in one account, a larger SME accounting package is a better fit. See what's included under features.

Where is my data stored?

On servers in Zurich, encrypted at rest and in transit, with weekly backups and optional two-factor login. Some features, such as AI receipt scanning, process data partly outside Switzerland. We never sell your data. More on the security page.
